Introducing the WCR 87.7 announcers

Stu Craib.

Stu is currently the chairperson and station manager for Waimate Community Radio. He grew up in the small town of Stirling and has worked all around NZ, Australia and the US. His music tastes are varied and he presents 4 shows a week.

• Tue 11am – 1pm 20min world music, then country and pop followed by a radio drama at 1pm

• Wed 4-6pm Pop and Rock and an episode of the GoonShow.

• Fri 1-3pm Novelty and Nostalgia plus a classic radio serial

• Sun 8.30 – 9.30am Christian music followed by a story for the young and young at heart

Ian Devlin

Ian was born and grew up in Waimate. He left in his mid teens and after a number of years moved back and is loving it. Ian says that Waimate is a great wee town. Ian loves most music especially 60s, 70s and 80s Rock and Heavy Metal, celtic and folk music from many countries.

• Wed 1 - 3pm Rock-pop 60s to 2000s
  7 - 9pm Rock and Metal 60s to 2000s

• Thursday morning Celtic - Irish, Scottish, Welsh etc

• Fri Afternoon 4pm - 6pm 80s Pop/Rock/New Wave etc.

Bill Glen

Bill hails originally from Glasgow, and has also spent time across the ditch. He also has a varied music taste.

• Thursday 2 -5pm Pop and rock from the 70's to current plus a little bit of country and folk.

Ina de Paauw-Fontein

Ina is originally from Amsterdam and Ina is also a local Celebrant.

• Wed 10 -noon alternates weekly between Dutch Treat, music from around the world, and a classical music program.

We are also on the lookout for more announcers and volunteers for the shop.
