A place for fun, friendship, learning through growing food for the community.

The Waimate Community Garden was formed in 2011, by a group of people who wanted to create a place where their gardening skills, knowledge could be passed on as well as a resource for the whole community. People are encouraged to spend time in the garden as payment for produce taken, members of the Committee are on hand at various to assist new comers.

A ‘Take It or Leave It’ stand has been has since been established - a place where people can leave fresh produce for others to take.

The Waimate Community Gardens is next to the playing field on William St and The Waimate Community Orchard is on the corner of Victoria Tce and Paul St Waimate
