The Waimate Art Gallery actively promotes art in our community

Society holds an annual exhibition, as well as several workshops throughout the year covering all types of media.

The Waimate Art Society Inc was founded in 1956, meeting in people's own homes and sharing knowledge. Eventually after outgrowing various venues around the town the Society purchased the present premises on the corner of High and Shearman Streets, in 1993.
