The Freemasons is one of the oldest fraternal organisations in the world, dating beyond the early 17th century. For centuries Freemasons have given assistance to those in need.

St Augustine Lodge is the oldest club/organisation with continuous membership in Waimate since 1875. Currently with 40 members of varying age and countries of origin, we serve the local community with private grants to individuals and projects that we undertake. We operate as a Masonic Lodge organisation wich has served the communities across the country since 1839 in New Zealand and 1717 overseas.

Open to men of all race, religion and creed from ages 18-90 years. We do involve our partners in social activities and community based functions.

We are not a secret society, but an organisation with some secrets.

We will be celebrating 150 years strong in 2025
